The LEGO® Batman Movie opened last week and LEGOLAND® Malaysia is having a full month of LEGO® activities to celebrate the release from the 17th of Feb to the 31st of March 2017.
Managed to take some time off to check out the events and there are some nice brick activities for the kids as well as a scavenger hunt that once completed, can net you some freebies.
As per usual, you’d need to collect an activity sheet from the Guest Services office near the front of the park.
To complete the activity sheet, you’d need to participate in a scavenger hunt which will take you to places around the park like the “The Beginning”, Technic and Academy areas as well as the Miniland.
Basically there are two components to this, one is to search for the Bat logo that is hidden all around those sections and the other is to to track down our Batman Brick Heroes around the Kuala Lumpur section of the Miniland
Look out for this “Scavenger Hunt” sign which will indicate that there are some Bat logos nearby. All you need to do is to count the total number and you’d get a stamp from one of the LEGOLAND® park staff.
The next part of this “scavenger” hunt is looking out for brick built versions of Batman Movie characters that are placed all around the Kuala Lumpur section of the Miniland.
There are three questions that need to be filled out and a quick tour of the miniland should reveal to you where their locations are. I took some shots of the brick built versions of Batman, Robin and the Batmobile so that you will know what to look for.
Once you’re done with the Scavenger Hunt, you’d need to bring the activity sheet back to the Academy area to claim your prize. The prizes are either a LEGO Batman Movie poster or a Batman Mask according to the staff but they were quite coy as to exactly what other gifts are available.
There is a building activity located at the Academy area where two LEGO Batman Movie mosaics that are being built. One is a huge mosaic of LEGO Batman Movie Bat-logo made with 2×4 black and yellow bricks that is about 5 meters wide.
The other is a smaller one where the attendees are able to build a small section of the mosaic out of 1×1 bricks. You are given a 6×6 plate with the colours already printed on which you just find the corresponding bricks to match.
There is also a “side quest” of tracking down the Joker who comes in the form of a LEGOLAND Malaysia staff with a Joker Minifigure badge. Find this person during the allocated timings and answer a question to claim a FREE LEGO Batman Movie minifigure packet. The minifigure prize is limited to the first two who find her per session, after that she gives out stationary like pencil cases and notepads.
Took a stroll through the Big Shop (LEGOLAND’s retail section) and found some new products that I have not encountered before like the LEGO Batman Movie Minifigure display frame and the LEGO Batman Movie notebook.
The prices for most of the sets are pretty decent with the LEGO Technic BMW R 1200 GS Adventure (42063) going for RM$249.90 which is about SGD$75.
I know a lot of people have asked me about this but unfortunately, there is no exclusive LEGO Batman Movie Duplo brick in sight as our German counterparts have reported for their LEGOLAND Discovery Center.
The next LEGOLAND Malaysia exclusive Duplo brick should be for Star Wars Celebration in April.
