The LEGO IKEA Einrichtungshaus Dresden 15th Anniversary set came out last year but thanks to one of our readers, Robin Yeo, we now have a quick pictorial review of the much sought after set!
The set consists of 271 parts and there are only 350 sets produced for the employees of the IKEA Dresden store. Some of them have popped up on eBay to the tune of £300.
It is designed by Rene Hoffmeister who is Germany’s only LEGO Certified Professional in conjunction with his “Design in Stein” brick building company.
This employee gift set comes with its own mini coffee table book which showcases photos of their company events and highlight some of the more prominent individuals of the company.
The set comes in un-numbered bags which is actually not too much of a hassle to build since it is only a 271 pcs set.
One of the highlights of the set is the printed 1×4 blue IKEA brick. As you can see, it utilises a different printing process than the one LEGO uses for their sets and minifigures. Either way it’s a very nice piece to have this is exclusive to this set.
Here are some of Robin’s thoughts on the LEGO IKEA store:
“Relatively simple set to build but I love the colours. And it has a very nicely printed signage of the Ikea name. The building experience similar to building a Lego Architectural set”
The only way to get your hands on one of these is on eBay or Bricklink and I have seen auctions close at £300 before. So I’m very grateful for Robin who took the photos and shared this with us!
