The month of May is dedicated to all things Star Wars and each country celebrates it differently.
Disney Malaysia organised a rather intimate event over the course of two days which allowed fans from all over the country to showcase their love for a galaxy far far away.
In true Malaysian spirit, AFOLs from all over Kuala Lumpur came out in full force to display their MOCs and dioramas at the concourses of the Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall.
There were two sections to the celebration, the orange concourse held eight large scale dioramas that depicted classic scenes from all the movies (ie. Episodes I – VII + Rogue One) while the “fan zone” was situated at the Blue concourse.
The main highlight for me was the MOC competition which I have always looked forward to attending (since 2015) as the builders have never cease to amaze me with their concepts and execution of builds.
Here is a quick highlight of the builds that were on display as well as the competition entries.
There were a lot more notable MOCs that were only on display at the event and I wished that they could have been showcased for longer than just two days as some of them really have to be seen in person to appreciate the full grandeur of the build.
I took a few more photos of each build that I uploaded to my Flickr gallery which you can view here or scroll down to the bottom of the page.
There were also a couple of building activities which included a timed MOC contest as well as a speed building contest for the younger crowd.
The other concourse had an open play area and a few LEGO Star Wars sculptures on display.
Looking forward to the next event that will be coming up in June! Keep up the great work everyone. May the Force Be With YOU!
[Special thanks to LOM (LUG of Malaysia) for organising the event and to all those who displayed their dioramas and MOCs. It is a real honour to be able to see these in person!]
