third 2019 LEGO Ideas review

The LEGO Ideas team has been teasing the results for the third 2019 LEGO Ideas review for a full month now and we finally have the winners!

The three sets that will be headed for production are:

Seinfeld 30th Anniversary by Brent Waller (aka BrentWaller)

third 2019 LEGO Ideas review

The classic “show about nothing,” Seinfeld aired from 1989 to 1998, drawing record audiences and remains a fan favorite almost twenty years after it ended.

Featuring Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld), George (Jason Alexander), Elaine (Julia Louis Dreyfus), and Kramer (Michael Richards), the gang is ready to relive their days in Apartment 5A, discussing movies such as Rochelle, Rochelle, the comedy club softball league, or Kramer’s friend Bob Sacamano.

Apartment 5A features Jerry’s living room and kitchen, along with the hallway to the bedroom and bathroom, complete with green bicycle. Write your act on the classic computer or have a bite to eat from the refrigerator (don’t worry about refilling), all a part of this classic television set.

LEGO Typewriter by Steve Guinness (aka Steve Guinness)

third 2019 LEGO Ideas review

I have designed and built this replica typewriter, that has a working hand cranked mechanism. I originally developed the idea whilst I was on the Legomasters TV show in the UK. Since then I have continued to refine the design, making a hand cranked mechanism instead of a power functions motor that I had originally fitted. I have also had the keys printed up with letters. I believe this would make a fun and unique lego ideas project. I think it showcases the versatility of the Lego brick, and would look amazing on any Lego fans desk, at home or even in the office at work!

I hope to add more updates, showing my ideas for the packaging and giving details on how I developed the working mechanism.

I’m dedicating the idea to my wife Rachael, who is my best friend and an amazing support to me, she always believes in me and is an amazing encouragement to me in everything I do. I would love to be able to walk in to a Lego shop with Rachael and my children Daisy and Obby, and see my design on the shelves 🙂

Home Alone: McCallister’s House by Alex Storozhuk (aka adwind)

third 2019 LEGO Ideas review

All started with a single set – Santa’s Workshop (10245) me and my girlfriend (back at those days) bought for 2016-th Christmas 🎄. I accidentally saw some pictures of this very cute set and thought that it would be a cool thing to do at Christmas Eve 😊 Since then Winter Village became very special thing for us (as a married couple now) and addiction started to grow rapidly 😂 Winter Village and Home Alone movie inspired us to start our first project on Lego Ideas 😊 Thanks to all those who are supporting us!

So there you have it, the next three LEGO Ideas projects that will be made into an actual LEGO set.

What did you all think of the results? Personally, I’m a bit disappointed that the Zelda project didn’t get made as well as Planet Express as I would have loved a set of Futurama minifigures.

I was also rooting for the clockwork aquarium as the ingenuity in creating that for it’s size is quite a feat too.

Oh well, see you all at the next round of results!

Awsum. I was hopeing for the 2nd one an it got in Steve Guinness. This shaw will be a popular set for on desplay an people s will probly not know its Lego until u tell them. This is such a great idear for a build .to now be a Lego set. Amazing

  2. garyweinhauer says:

A typewriter is more “fun” then the ship from Futurama. Time to wake up Lego

    • Jens says:

The typewriter is not bad as it’s real looking but I totally agree with you that Futurama would be my first choice before silly Seinfeld (I’m 41 btw) and love Futurama and would probably buy any thing of that set 😂

  3. ANNE MATTHEWS says:

I would have liked clockwork aquarium as I am hoping more automaton sets are released
The hedwig model is exactly what I am interested in

  4. Eric Ray says:

That’s dumb as fuck. Any one of those sets are better than the 3 chosen. The sets they didn’t choose also have way more play value. I don’t know a single kid that knows what Seinfeld is, much less likes it. Who really wants a type writer or the home alone house? The freaking winter chalet does in fact match Lego’s brand, have they never played Lego world’s? Whole winter world. That’s just ridiculous.

  5. Stef says:

I guess Lego wants to go with ‘brand names’ in stead of quality. That’s the only reason I can think of why the house from Home Alone beats the Winter Chalet. If you put them side by side, which one is kinda dull and which one pops out??

  6. NotAmeme says:

I am slightly upset that queen I want to break free set looked bomb I would buy it.

  7. Moe-Mux-Hagi says:

Oh, sure. The Seinfeld Show will sell WAY BETTER than the Breath of the Wild stable. It’s CLEARLY more popular (especially these days) and kids OBVIOUSLY love it.

    FFS, LEGO, USE YOUR BRAIN.
Breath of the Wild is a ZELDA GAME. ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL AND FAMOUS FRANCHISE OF THE WORLD OF VIDEO GAMES. And Zelda’s on fire nowadays, with people eagerly awaiting the next game, countless conversations online, and for YEARS, it’s been demanded over and over again to have its own lego theme, with so much set potential ! So don’t give me that “it’s just a video game, it won’t sell” crap because you sell Overwatch, Minecraft and, surprise surprise, even awful Mario sets.
And don’t say “Seinfeld’s more nostalgic” because Zelda has been in the heart of its fans since 1986, 3 years longer. It’s also known and loved WORLDWIDE, while Seinfeld is basically known in the States alone.
The Hylian Stable is also an ACTUAL TOY, not a glorified model of a studio. You can play with it, open compartments, have fun creating this beautiful structure, while Seinfeld’s only purpose is to have characters sitting around in a cramped up place !

You screwed up so much here, I am so dissapointed in you, LEGO.

TL;DR, you fucked up so hard you missed on probably the biggest set theme in your history for one that will die on arrival for the simple fact that it used to be famous.

  8. Christie says:

Love love love Seinfeld! You are so hitting the right age group for those of us using Legos as a way to detach and unwind from a stressful day! I will definitely be picking this one up – and maybe Home Alone!

  9. Beverly Lee says:

I like the house but I would have liked to see the winter chalet win

  10. Scott says:

I would have been all over the Futruama ship..

Why the heck did that get selected!!!
