LEGO City Crooks Hideout Raid (60278) Has Been Cancelled

The latest wave of LEGO City sets launched earlier this year with the exclusion of the LEGO City Crooks Hideout Raid (60278).

There were quite a bit of speculation on whether it would be released at all and well, we just got the official word from LEGO headquarters that it has officially been cancelled.

With LEGO City, we always aim to represent the reality of the world in a way that is fun, positive and appropriate for kids.  With this in mind, we have decided not to launch this product as we no longer feel it is in keeping with the values of the LEGO City brand.

This wouldn’t be the first time that LEGO has cancelled a set that was on the precipice of their launch. They recalled the LEGO Technic V-22 Osprey(42113) just as it was announced which lead to a huge markup.

If there are copies of LEGO City Crooks Hideout Raid (60278) out in the wild, I’m sure that it would fetch a pretty penny on the collector market. Perhaps LEGO’s delay in the announcement was so that they could consolidate their stocks before they  had another repeat of the Osprey.

(Thanks Brickfanatics for finding out!)

LEGO is going woke at a rapid rate. If they cancel 60278 then they’ll need to cancel all the sets with crooks, robbers etc.

Not happy .. toys should be fun and imaginative. Hows this different to lego animated series that are also unrealistic. Not a happy Jon ! 😖
