LEGO Has Block19 Gun Removed From Manufacturer’s Website

LEGO Has Block19 Gun Removed

I actually saw the Washington Post article earlier this morning but did not want to share it till there was something positive to say and LEGO has come back with an official statement to the pinnacle of bad ideas.

We have contacted the manufacturer and they have removed the product from their website. We find the idea completely abhorrent. ~ The LEGO Group

Here is a bit of a primer, a company based in Utah, USA that specialises in gun modification launched a new body kit for Glock handguns which decks them out in bright red, yellow and blue studs mimicking LEGO blocks.

Now I don’t have to tell you what a monumental bad idea this is as this is an actual firearm that looks like a kids toy. Heck, even I mistook it for one when I first saw the image.

As of this posting, the manufacturer has taken down the product from its website but did state that “fewer than 20” of these kits have been sold. I sincerely pray that no one mistakes it for a toy and shoots someone else (or themselves with it).

Losing a child to any accidental shooting is already one child too many.

The things you people will hand wring over.
Do you think children just magically manifest out of thin air around things around things you deem look to close to toys?

It is so sad, that people feel, they can “get around things”, by making them LOOK like a toy. Many years ago, it was made the law, that “toy guns” had to have “glow in the dark ends, and stripes” Now, someone has taken the idea, a step further. disguising a gun, to look like it’s made out of Lego Blocks. Not cool. The manufacturer, thinks it’s “cute”? Not cool. Sadly, this may impact the already impacted Lego Collectors MODELS of guns, of ALL types [especially Military MODELS], helicopters and other items. FOR DISPLAY…..NOT FOR USE. How disgusting, to do something like this, to such a great building set. To defame Lego, in such a way. I am appalled!
