Just like clockwork, LEGO has pushed forward their announcement of the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser (75367) due to the “accidentally” sale of the aforementioned set in an official LEGO store in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
This has been a highly anticipated set which Star Wars fans and AFOLs have requested for years and now we’ll finally be able to add it to our ultimate collectors series collection.
For anyone thinking of getting this behemoth of an attack cruiser, it clocks in at a whopping 5374 pieces which is a 600+ pcs step up from the LEGO Star Wars UCS Star Destroyer (75252).
It measures 109cm from bow to stern which makes it just 1cm shorter than the Imperial Star Destroyer. The title of the longest LEGO Star Wars battleship still resides with the Super Star Destroyer which holds the record at 124.5cm.
Even as a Ultimate Collectors Series display piece, it comes with two exclusive minifigures in the form of Captain Rex and Admiral Yuralen.
Another unique piece would be the Clone Wars 20th Anniversary element although I suspect that this will show up in other Clone Wars sets in the upcoming months.
As with most “Adults Welcome” sets of late, this does come with a hefty price tag to the tune of €649.99 / USD649.99 / RM2849.90.
It will have a street date of October 1st for all LEGO Insiders (formally VIP programme) and Oct 4th for the public.
Honestly, it is great that LEGO is releasing the precursor to the Star Destroyer but at the same time, it is still too big a set for me to display, let alone justify the price.
It would be great if the LEGO Star Wars team could debut a micro-scale version of the various starships as those would be a lot more manageable for quite a lot of LEGO fans.
