German online toy retailer, Wagner’s, recently confirmed the LEGO Architecture The Great Pyramid of Giza 21058 set in their store listings and now we have the full details of the upcoming set!
Thanks to our friends at Promobricks and various other sources, we are able to confirm that the model will be based on the original Pyramids of Giza looked like in 26th century BC, a good 3800 years ago.
It consists of 1476 pcs and will not only feature the Pyramid of Cheops but its surrounding structures as well like the other subsidiary pyramids, the pier along with a small replica of the river Nile.
The pyramids will use white bricks instead of the usual tan as the original structures were white in colour during its heyday as it was covered in limestone.
Now here’s the rub, the set actually only features HALF the pyramid as the back is left open to reveal some of the internal architecture.
There are technic holes to allow you to attach the other half if you do decide to purchase a second set.
It is pegged at a recommended retail price of 139.99€ which means you’d need to spend double of that if you want a “full” display.
The LEGO Architecture The Great Pyramid of Giza (21058) is slated for a June 1st release and we should get the official reveal pretty soon so watch this space!
