LEGO The Lord of the Rings Rivendell 10316 Official Announcement!

Intense speculation for the past year has lead to this reveal which I have to admit (albeit a tad reluctantly) that LEGO has finally released a set that I’m actually excited about.

We had a leaked image of the concept build earlier on this week which managed to whet the appetites of LEGO Castle and Lord of the Rings (LotR) fans alike. So without further ado, here is the official announcement of the LEGO Lord of the Rings Rivendell (10316).

The set is massive which recreates the scenes that occurred in the elven town of Rivendell. Primarily from the Fellowship of the Ring, it depicts the Council Ring, Frodo’s Bedroom, Elrond’s study (where Bilbo wrote his book), the confrontation between Boromir and Aragon with the Nasil shards.

There is a tonne of details and no doubt easter eggs packed into this one set which only the builder will discover on the model’s journey to completion.

This gorgeous set comprises of 6,167 pcs and will include a total of 15 character minifigures in the form of Gandalf the Grey, Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Merriadoc “Merry” Brandybuck, Peregrin “Pippin” Took, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, Aragorn, Elrond, Arwen, Bilbo Baggins along with a couple of elves and a dwarf (Gloin).

The LEGO Lord of the Ring Rivendell (10316) will have a recommended retail price of €499.99 / USD$499.99 / £429.99 / 799.99 AUD / 669.99 CAD / 4599.0RMB.

It will have a exclusive LEGO VIP launch on from the 5th – 7th of March with the public sales starting on the 8th of March. LEGO VIP members who purchase the set during the VIP launch will also receive a LEGO Frodo and Golum LEGO Brickheadz set (40630).

I’m a Lord of the Rings fan and I’m really stoked that LEGO is releasing a Ultimate Collector’s Series style set for the franchise. My only (and constant) gripe would always be the price. Gorgeous as it is, my wallet weeps.
