LEGO Promotional Pods Revealed

LEGO Promotional Pod Polybags

The first time I encountered these “Battle Pods” was the Tiger Suit Batman from the LEGO Batman Movie.

It was super highly sought after and now, thanks to the guys over at Bouwsteentjes, we have the first images for three upcoming promotional pod polybags (try saying that three times fast)!

The first one ties in with The LEGO Ninjago Movie and it looks like they are following a similar marketing strategy as The LEGO Batman Movie for their promotional materials.

It features Kai with a brand new psychedelic hairpiece and a host of weapons in a nice handy pod. I was a bit wary at first but after the LEGO Batman Movie Battle Pod was released, I can’t think of a better way to carry around my sig-fig and their accessories.

LEGO Knights Nexo Armour Pod (5004914)

The NEXO Knights are also getting in on the action with their very own “Armour Pod” with a generic knight and his shield piece plus sword.

Not sure why but there is a cool classic space logo on the front of the pod.

LEGO Friends Ski Pod (5004920)

LEGO Friends is getting in on the pod action as well with Emma getting her very own Ski Pod.

It is in theme with the current “winter” wave of LEGO Friends Set and it features her in a ski outfit with a set of skis and ski poles.

There is still no word on how these will be distributed but it should be some sort of Gift-With-Purchase coming up and from the looks of things, it should arriving in Asia pretty soon.

  1. Ben Olmsted says:

Huge clue that next year’s Nexo Knights theme will feature a Classic Space tie-in.

Totally expecting blue and gray and trans yellow all over the theme, and plenty of classic space logos.

I’ve got mixed feelings on this. To me it’s kind of like Beyoncé releasing a David Bowie cover record.
