LEGO Ideas Sonic The Hedgehog 21331 Sneak Peek!

An online store based in Mexico has just posted the first couple of box images to the upcoming LEGO Ideas Sonic The Hedgehog 21331 set.

It features our intrepid hedgehog racing through the first portion of the Green Hill Zone battling brick built versions of Doctor Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik, Moto-bug and Crabmeat.

It does look like they remained faithful to the LEGO Ideas Sonic Mania project by toastergrl as it appears that this set is expandable with the technic pins one at the end.

This could mean that there might be more sets on the way or the designers have given us the option to expand the course with multiple copies of the set.

It is also good to know that Sonic the Hedgehog is the only minifigure in the set while the rest of the characters are brick-built.

There is no word on the exact launch date but the website does list it as “available for purchase” at 2699 pesos which translates to approximately  SGD$73 / USD$54.

I know that LEGO inked a deal with Nintendo to produce those Super Mario sets but if Sonic can run through his obstacle course as a minifigure, so can Super Mario.
