LEGO Lord of the Rings Rivendell 10316 Confirmed for 2023

There was a flurry of leaks in the last 24 hours but one in particular does confirm a long standing rumour that we will be getting a “ultimate collectors series” type LEGO Lord of the Rings play-set.

The leaked image, which I will not publish here as it contains watermarks and it is also a concept build which means that it is not the final design, features prominently the council of Elrond in Rivendell, the Elven town in Middle Earth.

There are a handful of minifigures included but I cannot confirm who made the final line up but I would bet that it is substantial. It is the scene where they decide on the fate of the one ring so it should at least include, Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir (?), Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin, Bilbo Baggins, Elrond and Arwen.

The diorama utilises some interesting tree designs with four different ones littered across the build. There is a tower that is adjacent to the main building which sports a white / sand green / light orange colour palette. A bridge links a smaller island with a gazebo to the main area.

Think of this as an ultra up-scaled version of the LEGO Lord of the Rings Council of Elrond set which was released in 2013.

The rumoured price for this LEGO Lord of the Rings D2C is pegged at USD$500 range but there could be a price revision closer to launch.

This is a set that was slated for March 1st release so we should be getting an official announcement any time soon as I’m sure LEGO marketing would like to reap a bit of the social media traction from this leak.

It’s going to have to be majorly upscaled from the Council of Elrond to be worth $500 imho

    I have two questions:
    1) How do I preorder? Lego.com and Bricklink.com do not list this set number. It’s not in the Lego catalogue either.
    2) Where do I find a photo?! The Internet is swarming with websites saying “photo leaked, but we will not show it here!” I want to see the product before I spend so much on buying it!! I am happy if there is a watermark on the image.
    Hope you can help.
    A Lego Fan

I’m soooooo excited. I just hope it doesn’t cost out the wazzo lol. Even if I can’t get it I’m just glad Lego LOTR hasn’t been abandoned.
