I seldom blog about LEGO photography but this charming series by photographer/AFOL Domenico Franco has really caught my attention.
The concept for “Lego Outside Legoland” is a simple one, “transform ordinary contexts in extraordinary ones” through the use of LEGO bricks in clever ways.
“How many among us would not wish to land by helicopter just beside the Colosseum?“
His idea was to seamlessly supplant “life sized” LEGO Trucks, Camper Vans, Helicopters, Lamborghinis and even a Classic Space Ship into every day scenes around the beautiful city of Rome.
And the results are most impressive. Granted that these are digitally manipulated to a certain extent, one can still appreciate the work of getting the lighting just right for the LEGO model to blend with the scenery.
After seeing this, I know that I would not mind having a bit more Lego in real life.
