LEGO BrickHeadz Line Ending in 2018?

LEGO BrickHeadz ending

There were a few signs of trouble when chatter started about LEGO BrickHeadz not being on the 2019 roster of sets and now there are more AFOLs coming forward relating similar incidences like:

Two weeks ago at Brickworld Michigan, the local LEGO Discovery Center was clearing all Brickheadz at their vendor booth, including the ones that just released this week. The cashier said the line is ending this year, so I doubt we’ll see any new characters announced.

Retailers have been mentioning the varied response to the LEGO BrickHeadz line as some sets would sell in the thousands while others would languish in the bargain bin.

Even with the line ending nearing its end, LEGO could still release more BrickHeadz in the future as one-offs like how they did with the double-packs like Jurassic World, The Incredibles and Ghostbusters just to name a few. Personally I would like this theme to carry on as it is a great source of parts (when cheap) and they are easy to build for the non-initiated.
