The LEGO Group’s social engagement event, “Build the Change” is putting a face to corporate responsibility.
The global campaign challenges the children of today to tackle real world problems with a healthy dose of imagination and the help of a few LEGO bricks.
Attendees were posed question: “How would you design a high-tech city of the future to help keep our environment clean and green?” and then given a host of LEGO elements to visualise their ideas.
Naturally, Adults were not allowed in the building area as it fostered an environment where the kids could be free to build without any external influences.
“You can see how real time creativity is being worked to solve very real problems” ~Lizum Mishra, Head of Government & Public Affairs APAC
Which resulted in some very interesting builds as well as parts usage like using the round tree elements to form a caterpillar.
Some of the captions by the children really does show a keen understanding of the world that these kids are living in.
The bigger purpose of this event is to equip the kids with the relevant skills necessary for the 21st century ~ Lucia Cioffi, Sr Vice President, Global Procurement, The LEGO Group (TLG)
