LEGO Art The Great Wave 31208 Sneak Peek!

There was some chatter about the Great Wave off Kanagawa getting the LEGO Art treatment earlier this year and now thanks to instagram user Piraten_Moc, we have our first look at LEGO’s latest mosaic.

The woodblock print is one of the most iconic pieces of art and I’m glad that the LEGO Art theme is including Asian works into their repertoire.

While I do wish that it had a bit more relief like the LEGO Ideas Starry Night (21333) I can understand why they kept it to mostly a 2-dimensional plane.

There are reports of this set being a January 1st release but we don’t have any confirmation on that. It should have a recommended retail price of 99,99€.

While it is great that LEGO is being more inclusive with regards to the artworks they feature, this probably good indicator that the LEGO Ideas The Great Wave off Kanagawa will not be selected.
