Review: LEGO Statue of Liberty Minifigure Magnet (6296008)

I had almost missed this when I visited my local LEGO Certified Store in Singapore as I had thought the LEGO Statue of Liberty Minifigure Magnet was a New York city exclusive but it was hanging on the rack with all the other LEGO keychains.

It is retailing for SGD$7.90 / USD$5.99 and if you look carefully at the packaging, it states that it consists of 11pcs which was a bit of a surprise as I didn’t think that LEGO would produce a magnet that had removable minifigures.

I assumed wrong as the LEGO Statue of Liberty minifigure is removable from the base! Not only that, one can actually dismantle the minifigure into individual components.

This is actually an alternative way for those who missed out on the Lady Liberty from Collectible Minifigure Series 6 when it was released in 2012. At SGD$7.90 / USD$5.99, it is quite a steal considering the secondary market prices are approximately SGD$15.

Not to mention that you also get a 2×4 Light Bluish Grey tile with the New York print to boot.

Definitely worth picking up one or two if you do come across it. I’ve been hearing that stores have been selling out of them already here in Singapore and Malaysia.

Hello Brickfinder! I searched this magnet set on the online Lego store and there’s a same version as this. However, the product code is different (853600) and it seemed to be launched in 2016. Do you think they the same? Thanks!
