LEGO Harry Potter The Monster Book of Monsters (30628) First Look!
A LEGO Discovery Center store flyer from China has inadvertently revealed the next LEGO Harry Potter gift with purchase!
The LEGO Harry Potter The Monster Book of Monsters (30628) gift with purchase is available when you spend a minimum of 1399元 which is approximately SGD$283 on LEGO Harry Potter products.
The set is valued at 199元 and it also includes one Draco Malfoy minifigure. It is also able to move and the book will open and close, mimicking the chomping action the actual tome is famous for.
Some lucky AFOLs managed to get their hands on it and shared their pictures on wechat. You can check out the action motion in the animated gif below.
There is still no word on when this will be deployed globally but it should hit the other market regions around the holiday time.
I’m pretty confident that this will be very popular considering that a lot of people I know have been holding off getting Diagon Alley till a worthy gift with purchase appears. Well now it has.

I just walked out of the Lego Discovery Center in Shanghai and this set is unfortunately not available anymore. In the shopkeepers words: ‘LEGO has already cancelled this promotion’. All the Book of Monsters were sold out and there are hardly any HP sets left in the store! It looks like this was a successful promotion and the shopkeeper said it might return in the future. No word on worldwide availability yet. So just a heads up if you’re in the Shanghai area: don’t waste your time going to the store if your sole purpose is to get your hands on the Book of Monsters!
